Dear all,

applications are invited for a Postdoctoral position funded by the H2020
ERC Consolidator project: "MAGNESIA - The impact of highly magnetic neutron
stars in the explosive and transient Universe". The position will be based
at the Institute of Space Sciences (CSIC-IEEC) in Barcelona, Spain, and
starting dates might be sometimes in 2020, depending on specific needs.

*Job description*

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated researcher interested in:
"Searches for periodic and transient signals from radio to X/gamma-rays",
using new and archival multi-band data. We appreciate expertise in pulsar
timing and transient detection techniques. The initial appointment will be
for two years with a possible renewal up to four years, depending on
performance and the project needs. The group has a proprietary computer
cluster and a supporting computer scientist to run our analysis efficiently.

Applicants should hold (or be close to hold) a PhD-degree within the area
of physics or astronomy, and be a social and enthusiastic person. Salaries
are relatively high for Spanish standards and needs, and they might vary
depending on expertise and personal situation between 30-50 keuros (gross
annual). All contracts include health insurance, retirement plan, parental
leave, and unemployment benefits. The host institution is part of of
Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), comprises several groups spanning
from Astrophysics, Cosmology, Planets, Gravitational Waves, and Nuclear
Astrophysics, and hosts several laboratories to shape next generation space
and ground-based instruments. The Institute of Space Sciences (CSIC-IEEC)
