Hi Everyone,
Green Bank Obsercatory is hiring a postdoctoral associate. Details are
available at http://jobs.jobvite.com/nrao/job/oxjacfwW . The deadline
to apply is March 20. The position is open to any science background,
but those with expertise in pulsars and/or FRBs are encouraged to apply.
GBO has a couple of active development projects that may be of interest
to those with a background in pulsars, FRBs, and signal processing:
1) We are building a new 0.7-4 GHz ultrawideband receiver that is
optimized for high precision pulsar timing and observations of
transients. The receiver is currently being constructed and scientific
commissioning is planned to start in early 2021. This project is
supported by a Moore Foundation grant to NANOGrav.
2) We are researching new digital technologies and radio frequency
interference techniques that may complement the ultrawideband receiver.
This project is funded by an NSF grant to GBO.
I'm happy to answer any questions about these projects and the position
in general. Please feel free to circulate this to anyone that you think
might be interested.
Thanks!
Ryan
PS
As usual, apologies to those who receive this more than once.
