Dear all,
It is our pleasure to announce that registration has now opened for the
2023 International Pulsar Timing Array (IPTA) Science Meeting (June 19-23,
Port Douglas, Queensland) and Student Workshop (June 13-16, Sydney, New
South Wales).
As the first in-person gathering of the community since 2019, the meeting
will provide an opportunity to share recent breakthrough results and
discuss their implications, reconnect with colleagues, and form new
collaborations. The science meeting will be held at the Pullman Resort,
located on the traditional lands of the Yirrganydji (Irrukandji) people in
Port Douglas, in Northern Queensland. Port Douglas is a coastal community
close to the Great Barrier Reef and the famed Daintree Rainforest.
The student workshop will be held at CSIRO Space & Astronomy headquarters,
located on the traditional lands of the Wallumedegal people in Marsfield
(Sydney), New South Wales. The workshop will include both lectures and
hands-on training to students and astronomers new to the field, in the
astrophysics and techniques of nanohertz-frequency gravitational wave
astronomy. The workshop coincides with Sydney’s Vivid Festival
<https://www.vividsydney.com/>, a festival of light.
Further details on meeting registration can be found at
https://ipta4gw.org/meetings/2023/
Please note that early registration closes 14 April and late registration
and abstract submission closes 15 May.
On behalf of the local organising committee, we look forward to welcoming
you to Australia this June.
Sincerely,
Ryan Shannon (co-chair)
