Subject: [Physics_all_academics] Lecturer in radio astronomy - new continuing position
Dear colleagues,
I’m excited to announce we are advertising a new continuing position in the School of Physics: Lecturer in Radio Astronomy, funded initially from the sale of the Molonglo telescope site.
The successful applicant will establish a new research program in radio astronomy that takes advantage of the opportunities offered by the SKAO; broadens the current activities in radio astronomy within the School of Physics; and complements the research directions currently pursued by members of the Sydney Institute for Astronomy (SIfA). While all areas of radio astronomy relevant to the SKAO will be considered, we are particularly interested in candidates with interests and expertise in any of the following areas: extragalactic radio spectral-line and continuum surveys, multiwavelength studies of active galaxies or galaxy evolution, studies of the intergalactic or circum-galactic medium, or cosmology.

This is a teaching & research position, and the successful applicant will be expected to teach in our undergraduate physics program.
The deadline for applications is October 11th 2026. Please circulate to anyone who may be interested in applying,
Tara
