Dear PULSE at Parkes team,
We have recently had some excellent PULSE at Parkes sessions and plenty more are coming up. We now have interest in running sessions from New Zealand, Holland, China, Italy and the USA!
In order to allow the students to process their observations and to provide some projects that schools can carry out before they come to an observing session (or even for students/public who just wish to play with the data) we have developed an online module. This module is almost ready to go live, but we'd like it to be tested as much as possible. Would you be willing to try the module and let us know what works and what does not work? The module is at http://pulseatparkes.atnf.csiro.au/distance_final/ and should be self explanatory (if it is not then let us know!) Next Friday we plan to let a set of students and teachers have a go at the module and so it would be useful if we could get your comments on the module by the end of this week. If you can test the module then please email your comments to all, or just to Jonathan Khoo, Robert Hollow and myself.
Thanks for all the work that has been done for PULSE at Parkes over the last few months. We'll have a big planning session sometime in the near future to discuss how to move PULSE at Parkes forward!
Thanks to Jonathan for all the work that has gone into programming module 1! Please forward this email to anyone else that might like to test out the module and please remind collaborators about the PULSE at Parkes email distribution list (http://lists.pulsarastronomy.net/mailman/listinfo/patp_lists.pulsarastronomy.net)
Cheers,
George
