[Everyone] PHAROS Open Call to host Meetings, a PhD School and the Annual Conference (May 2018 - April 2019)

Dear all,
the COST Action "PHAROS: The multi-messenger physics and astrophysics
of neutron stars" (CA16214) is opening a call for applications for the
organization of several scientific meetings, a PhD training school,
and the PHAROS Annual Conference, to be held in the period ranging
from 2018 May 1 until 2019 April 30.
To apply, please send a notification email to
pharos_applications at ice.csic.es with:
1. Email Subject: specifying for the organization of which event you
are applying for, and the proposed city.
2. Please include a scientific summary (maximum 3 pages), with aim and
motivation, how and when would you like to plan the event, a
preliminary schedule, proposed program with the list of topics, and
for the meeting specify to which PHAROS working groups would they be
related (see the MoU linked below).
3- A short description (maximum 2 pages) of the Host Institution, in
situ facilities and accommodation, availability of public
transportation, connection with the airport, etc etc. Please specify
the possible (and encouraged) availability of matching funds.
4- A detailed Curriculum Vitae of the applicant.
"PHAROS strongly encourage plans for outreach activities, particular
attention to equal opportunities, the support of young researchers in
leading organization roles, and the application from ITC** countries."
We will collect applications until 2018 April 10. Priority will be
given to cheap and easily accessible places. See below for further

* Meetings
- They should be scientifically related to one or more PHAROS working
groups (see the link to the MoU below)
- They can be organized in any PHAROS full member country or Near
Neighbour affiliated institution (see list below).
- PHAROS can support travel and accommodation expenses (the latter up
to 160 euros per day, and for a maximum of 1500 euros) to a selected
list of participants.
- Local Organizer Support can be asked for 20 euros/participant/day up
to 5000 euros with no receipts, or up to 10.000 euros with receipts.
- Reimbursed participants might be from any PHAROS full member country
or Near Neighbour affiliated institution.
- Up to 4 participants from other International countries might be reimbursed.
- Registration fees cannot be reimbursed (but you might just consider
waive them for the reimbursed participants).
- Total budget for the application period is ~ 35.000 euros (with a
general raccommandation of ~ 1.000 - 10.000 per meeting, depending on
the number of days and envisaged number of participants).
* PhD training school
- They should be scientifically related to one or more PHAROS working groups.
- They can be organized in any PHAROS full member country or Near
Neighbour affiliated institution.
- Trainees can be supported by a fix amount (up to 1500 euros, with no
receipts), and can be of any PHAROS full member country or Near
Neighbour affiliated institution
- Lecturers can be supported for travel and accommodation expenses
(the latter up to 160 euros per day) and be of any PHAROS full member
country, Near Neighbour and International affiliated institution.
- Local Organizer Support can be asked for 20 euros/participant/day up
to 5000 euros with no receipts, or up to 10.000 euros with receipts.
- Total budget for the application period is ~ 22.000 euros.
* Annual Conference
- It should be organized simultaneously to the Management Committee
meeting (1 day within the conference), the members of which should be
reimbursed by the conference budget. If you are willing to propose to
organize such a conference please contact the MC member of your
country (see link below) who should be in charge of the organization
of the simultaneous annual MC meeting.
- It should be scientifically related to all PHAROS working groups
(see the link to the MoU below)
- It can be organized in any PHAROS full member country (see list below).
- PHAROS can support travel and accommodation expenses (the latter up
to 160 euros per day, and for a maximum of 1500 euros) to a selected
list of participants.
- Local Organizer Support can be asked for 20 euros/participant/day up
to 5000 euros with no receipts, or up to 10.000 euros with receipts.
- Reimbursed participants might be from any PHAROS full member country
or Near Neighbour affiliated institution.
- Up to 4 participants from other International countries might be reimbursed.
