For observational applicants, experience in pulsar binary data analysis or searches, FRB searches, and polarization calibration is particularly desirable. Theoretical applicants from closely related fields are also encouraged to apply. Candidates from other fields with extensive computing skills are also welcome to inquire.

The successful candidate will be offered competitive salary, subsidized housing and standard benefits, and will also be considered for the “Shuimu Scholar” Program(清华大学博士后) at Tsinghua University. Generous research and travel funds are also available.

The department and the location:

While Tsinghua University is one of the most historic and prestigious universities in China, the Department of Astronomy, established in 2019, is a young and dynamic unit. The university is adjacent to Peking University and within a 30-minute bicycle ride of the National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC). The region offers a vibrant research environment, with active collaborations among these institutes and frequent visits from researchers worldwide. Located in Beijing—historically the capital of three major dynasties—the city hosts thousands of registered historical and cultural heritage sites and provides convenient access to nearby hiking areas and ski resorts.
